Ingredients:
5 bananas
4 eggs well beaten
1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
3 ½ c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped nuts (optional)
Blend bananas and eggs in mixer. Mix in shortening and sugar. Add dry ingredients and blend.

Grease 2 loaf pans and line with wax paper.
Pour in batter. Bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
I tend to bake them for an additional 5 minutes if the center is still gooey.
Remove from oven and let cool 5 minutes. Pull on sides of wax paper to remove from loaf pan. Continue to cool on a plate.
